In the least, Beth was surprised. She thought that after her first entry and spilling to the whole world Harry was indeed Harry Potter, and not this Harry Longbottom. Ha! Being related to Neville. The blond shook her head as she walked, taking the chance and leaving her laptop in her room. However, she still had her iPhone in her pocket
( ... )
What an odd way to greet someone. Harry's green eyes met the reporters. "It's just as weird to meet someone claiming you're a fictional character." He shrugged at her and sipped the tea. "You already know who I am anyways," He muttered.
"I wanted to tell you that I was angry that you kept telling them about me and my life, but that there was no way, except common sense, to know I was keeping who I was from them."
She smirked at what he spoke, shrugging slightly. It wasn't like she was offended or anything. He shouldn't have said he was related to Longbottom, if all people. "Well, I am sorry that I didn't get your hint sooner. Though, saying you were related to Longbottom, wasn't very wise." She expressed aloud.
"Was there anything specific, other then you saying you didn't blame me completely and all that jazz?" She questioned as she too ordered a tea, strumming her fingers on the table idly.
Harry gave an indifferent shrug. "It was the first name that came into my mind." He held her gaze. "I know you mentioned an Epilogue. I'm both curious and wary." He took another sip of the tea. "You know, with the prophecies and Divinations, I'm almost tired of visions of the future."
He glanced back at his cup. "How much do you know?" His eyes casually watched her fingers strum before looking back at the American.
Beth laughed. "Yeah, you never liked Professor T. I'm really proud of Hermione when she walked out." She giggled softly, before composing herself. She pushed her hair out of her face, trying to decide how to answer his question.
"Well, I know a helluva lot." She said wearily, not sure if he wanted her to elborate on what she knew, or what. So, instead of assuming, she would wait until he asked any specific questions.
Harry gaped, "You know about that?" He looked into the tea and shoved it away. Thinking of the tea reading he'd done in Trelawney's class... ugh. He pulled his hands off the table and wrapped them comfortingly around his wand. It wouldn't do much, not all of what he used to be able to do, but it was a reassuring feeling, especially since he fixed the wand.
"Apparently." He muttered and pulled his hands out his pocket and placed them on the table. "I want to ask you not to talk about some of the stuff that went on. I mean, does Sirius really need to know he's framed and sent to Azkaban by someone he thought was his friend?"
Beth smirked. Of course she knew about that. It was in the third book, and it made Beth laugh her heart out. Little Miss.Know-it-all walked straight out of a classroom. Something completely unexpected. And gave Beth respect for the frizzy-haired female.
At his question, she rolled her eyes, shaking her head. She wasn't really that stupid. "I'm not going to do that! Sirius is my favorite character. Plus, he owes me a bar night. I'm not going to make him hate me. And yeah, I'm not telling all of them that they die." She reassured him before he asked, accepting her tea and smiling. "But if Peter somehow winds up here, believe me. I will kill him. You can help," she grinned cheekily, laughing lightly.
Harry sighed and took another sip of the tea. It was getting cold. "If you know that Hermione walked out on Divinations, you know well enough that Peter died a little while before I came here." His eyes flickered with sadness. So many had died in that battle with Voldemort.
He took another sip. "It's still odd having you refer to us as characters." He muttered and shoved the cup of tea away again.
[ooc; I've read Book 7, silly. And sorry for lateness.]
Beth giggled softly. Of course she knew he died in the books. "Duh. But look; Sirus, James, Lily, and Remus are all, technically, supposed to be dead. There is still a chance that Peter could show up at any point of his life." She pointed out, taking her own small sip from her tea, smiling.
"And I'm really sorry. I'll try to refrain from breaking the fourth wall any more then necessary. If at all." She offered, a slight truce of sorts.
The girl in front of him easily pointed out the flaw in his assurance that Peter not show up. Yes, he'd shown a moment of compassion, but he was also the reason Lily and James were dead. Harry sighed, "That's possible," He offered.
Harry nodded. "Just... They don't need to know all the stuff that's happening, and did happen." He sighed. "And I don't want them freaking out over stuff that can't change."
It was possible, he supposed, that Rivelata could change them, and what happened. But then he, the way he was, would cease to exist. Which he'd be willing to go for if there was an assurance Voldemort would still be defeated.
