Claire made her way down the street, worry plaguing her the second she'd left.
She shouldn't have left him in his state, should probably just have made Jeff go pick it up or something, but this was Katou, right? It was almost... obligation she do this herself, and besides.
It wasn't like anyone else wouldn't be asking a million questions on why the hell she needed gin.
Ugh. Just.
No point in not leaving him home alone for maybe five minutes, no big deal, right? And then there was the fact that Hiruma would hate being doted on. Treated like he wasn't capable of taking care of himself. Dependent.
God, she hoped he'd be okay.
Entering the store, she gave Katou a small smile. "Hey. Thanks again. I... really appreciate it."
She looked… troubled, to say the least. Not moving from his perch behind the table, Katou tilted his head and pushed the bottle of gin and chocolate bar in Claire’s direction. “Ain’t a problem,” he commented dryly, observing her face. He had already decided that he wouldn’t ask any questions. Whatever troubles his friend was in, it wasn’t his right to pry unless it seemed absolutely necessary. And Claire was a strong girl, both he and Kira knew that.
“Word to the wise, don’t try and empty that bottle. You’ll regret it the next morning,” he added. “And if things get tougher for ya, Kira and me ‘re always free for a chat, ‘kay?”
That was the most they could do right now without intruding on Claire’s privacy.
"Well, it's not for me," she said with a weak smile.
Not that Hiruma knew about any of that. There was no reason whatsoever for him to know how she'd make him forget about the pain he was in. Just that she was.
She was pretty sure that Hiruma had never had a sip of alcohol in his entire life.
It would certainly be interesting. Loss of control... loss of inhibitions-- no wonder he never touched the stuff.
He blinked. Twice. “Now, slow down girlie, slow down. What do ya mean ain’t for you?” If it wasn’t for her, for whom was it then? After all, it was her who had asked for something to get drunk on and he had been able to fanthom from her answers in the journal alone that something had made her depressed-
Frowning slightly, Katou cocked an eyebrow. “What’re you up to, eh?” Seriously, you could never trust girls. Ever.
[ ooc; I am so sorry for the ridiculously long wait. I had muse troubles for the past few days and had to fish Katou back. We were away at Kira mun’s parents for a while and I kinda half lost him there. Depressing atmosphere and all. ]

Even if this sort of made them even.
