It was nice, lounging in the sun. It was warm, and it made her skin tingle and the heat flushed through her body and she couldn't think of anything better to do right now. In about an hour, though, she was going to have to go and separate the gun powder before something happened with it -- she didn't want to be in trouble because something exploded ( ... )

When Penelo had emerged from her thankfully mostly-unharmed shop, she spotted Balthier at a distance and bounded across the wrecked road to get to his side- if anything to have someone familiar near her.

"Balthier!" She cried, "What is that?! Sky pirates?!"

What the hell? Falling head-first off Sakamoto’s bed, the rather intoxicated teen blinked, trying to connect to the real world. What in the entire world had that racket been about, not to mention the earthquake? He might have been slightly detached to his current surroundings at the moment but he doubted that even one of his wildest daydreams didn’t manage to achieve something as unbelievable as this. Shaking his head in bewilderment, Katou fished up the terrified kitten from under the bed, who struggled wildly in his hands once he grabbed hold of her and - cursing over some fresh scratches - made his way up cautiously to the shop ( ... )

“My-oh-my,” Morne-Miriel stumbled out on the deck, an eyebrow raised as he saw the chaos. Crash, huh? The black haired man yawned slightly and removed some of his shoulder long hair from his face before sauntering over to the board in order to have a look at the place in which they had accidentally landed. At least it was a city, a big one it seemed. Not too bad, he had had a dreadfully boring afternoon and cities always meant lots of fun - alcohol, cigarettes, drugs, a chance to earn money in more… pleasurable ways than robbery.

Of course, as first mate he was supposed to keep an eye on the crew but he had very sharp eyes - in every kind of state he could possibly be found in. He smirked slightly, both at the somewhat ruffled crew and the shocked townspeople, fished up a long, fancy cigarette which he had been lucky enough to find lying around somewhere and lit it without taking his black eyes away from the mess.

This was the best damn surprise in ages. He would have to make sure to thank whoever was behind the incident - ( ... )

Unlike her sister, Apollo had been doing something more constructive with her time. She had been sitting cross-legged somewhere in the middle of the front deck, purposely being in the way of everyone and everything, polishing a brand new gun. And after she had gotten it all nice and polished and shiny, she had decided to load it up with gunpowder ( ... )

Haruhi was out, making up for the disappearance of her market liaison by buying the groceries herself. Luckily for her, she hadn't bought anything yet, or the tremors from the ship's landing would have thrown them all to the ground. As it was, just one Haruhi tumbled to the dirt when the ship rumbled by. She should have been annoyed - was, for the slightest bit of time - but then she saw the pirate ship, and every other emotion gave way to one thing: excitement.

It was a pirate ship. A flying pirate ship. And here were actual sky pirates! Haruhi scrambled to her feet, amazed, surprised, impressed and approached the ship, checking to make sure the sword she used to train with Agrias was still intact in its sheath at her back.

"OY, PIRATES!" She shot the closest one a beaming Haruhian grin. "What do you think you're doing, tearing up the streets like this? Don't think you're going to pillage or anything on my watch!"
