WHO: Zexion, Larxene, Neku and Joshua WHAT: Interviewing some kiddies to help out at The Pen and Sword WHERE: The Pen and Sword (in a back alley in the market district) WHEN: Tomorrow Morning~
"They should be here soon," he said as he re-adjusted one of the teapots for what must have been the fiftieth time. He just couldn't get the damn thing to be in a position pleasing to him. "I told them morning."
He clicked his tongue. "Lateness does not reflect well on them..."
After Neku's disaster of an appearance at the ball, Joshua had made sure Neku looked at least somewhat presentable for his first job. That meant the headphones had to go. Not that they were useful for anything but show now, anyway. Other than that, though, Joshua didn't seem to be taking this too seriously.
They arrived together, Joshua half nudging Neku inside first before he could change his mind. He closed the door behind him. "So sorry we're late! Got caught in traffic."
Neku had grumbled and cursed under his breath all the way to the front door, before he'd reluctantly allowed himself to be shoved inside. The main reason for mood dampening was definately the loss of headphones - if not for the fashion statement, for the fact the market was even more so noisy than a ball, if that were possible- but he at least had the decency to remain silent as he entered, and not press his hands rebelliously against his ears when he got in sight of the shop.
Yeah, traffic, he thought sourly. More so you wake up late and blame it on me. Of course. But there was no time to yell at Josh today- today was about getting a job. Getting money to put food on the table- which he had skipped out on that morning. He had to do this interview; do it and do it right!
"Um. Hey," he said after Joshua had spoken and a slight amount of time had passed. Yup, he was so off to a winner here..
Larxene herself was wearing her Organization uniform, which she had gotten fixed since its inexplicable tattering on the boat ride over. It seemed the most professional option. Instead of her usual antennae look, her hair was simply all slicked back. Her face was sweet, but there was a definite undertone of displeasure. Larxene folded her arms.
"Tardiness does not reflect well on you, children. And while the excuse was cute, I'd rather have the truth. Actually, I'd rather you be on time, period," She smiled sweetly, perhaps a little TOO sweetly. "I'll let you off with a warning this time, but next time you may not be so lucky."
"Now!" The woman clasped her hands together and beamed childishly, "Let's get this show on the road, shall we? I am Larxene, I am in charge of the weapons division of this little shop," She then gestured as the glass cases full of her merchandise. Each blade was impeccably sharp, and everything was organized. Of course, it was Larxene.
It had been more of a joke than an excuse; anything that could be called traffic here would never compare to Shibuya. But Joshua didn't protest, answering with a just as cheerful, "Yes, ma'am."
When Larxene introduced her part of the store, he was unfazed. The unsualness of the shop was the reason he'd taken Zexion up on his offer to begin. It was better than working in some dull, boring place. "I'm sure you won't be letting us children near those. Health and safety protocols, and all?"
