The water that splashed back into the fountain seemed to smoke with red ink. Penelo reached out with a trembling hand to smooth his hair and stroke his face.

"Larsa, you're crying..." the girl murmured, barely a whisper.

She arched her back as the blood poured on her and restored her skin. Her mouth opened as if she were groaning in pain, but she didn't make a sound. After the searing pain subsided, she took the little cap and fumbled with it with clumsy fingers, finally bringing it to her lips and sipping it carefully.

He made sure Penelo had finished the capful of potion he had given her, before waving down Agrias.
"Here, Lady Knight!" Larsa shouted above the noise. As she wrapped Penelo in shreds of her cape, Larsa secured the makeshift bandages so they would not slip away.

Yes, he knew he was crying but they could be mistake for instinctive tears due to the smoke and flame.
"Penelo, hold on!" He shouldered her, supporting her before nodding to his fellow Ivalicean. This was what war and terror did; it found allies in remarkable situations.

"Lead and I will follow." He spoke firmly and bravely, despite his own wounds heavily staining Penelo's side.

Her senses were dulled and becoming fragmented. The fabric of the bandages and the fire was warm about Penelo, comforting. She gently wrapped a corner of the fabric around Larsa, too, shelting him close into the heat. Why was she shivering?

Penelo's battered body disobeyed her. Her grip loosening on Larsa, she slumped to the cobblestones, still clinging to his blouse with her trembling fingers.

And all the world was dark. She could almost imagine the fires raging around was a safe hearth at home, crackling away.

[[ooc: Knocking her out so I can go to sleep and you guys can continue to log. :D]]

"Penelo!" He stumbled, falling a second after her as she pulled him down. Inside, he screamed and cursed wildly at his inability to help. He was twelve and there was no hiding it here. He could not lift her, and he turned desperately to the Knight.

"Agrias, I beg of you, can you carry her?"

Agrias walked steadily forward, fast enough to keep the flames from touching her but slow enough to keep herself aware of her surroundings.

"The furthest end of the housing district appears to be unharmed. We should make it there and let you and Penelo rest. I will stand guard until you both recover."

She looked back and bowed to the firefighters, although she was sure they could not see her. "Reinforcements are coming out everywhere. The fire itself should be contained soon. I have spoken with other soldiers who are just as angry as we are at whoever caused this. I am certain all will be well in time."

Agrias looked down at Larsa, pitying him slightly. "I can help carry if you need me to."
