Kurama whirled, wet hair flying, and as the droplets hit the flames, they sent up flaming drops in return, leaving tiny, round burns where they contacted his bare face and neck.
And that's when the smell finally hit him.
Oil. It's an oil fire.
Hakkai had probably just saved his life. And still, the cries from inside threatened to drive him half-mad.
"Hakkai, the plants. They're screaming. I have to do something."
"Okay so no water, but what the hell else puts out a fire? Sand? Gravel? Stompin' on it?" Gojyo looked over inside the glass front window and noticed all of the fertilizer. "What about that stuff? Got more of it someplace we can get to it, like around back?"
He really was listening for a response from either of them, but he had a feeling that if they didn't move fast, Kurama was liable to do something about as crazy as Hakkai would've done when Kurama went all feral and stuff. So, still decked out in his dog costume, Gojyo made his way towards the back of the shop, dodging the flames as he went.
What were they supposed to do? They weren't getting in the back way, either.
He looked back and forth between the two redheads. For once, he didn't even have a suggestion... other than to let it burn, and Kurama wouldn't allow that outcome at all.

Kurama had doused himself in water and was going to attempt to go in - to do who knew what - when Hakkai suddenly smelled it.
Oil.* Frantically, something nudged at the back of his brain. Fires started by oil... were only made worse by water.
"Kurama!" he cried, darting after the redhead. "Don't! Don't go in!"
[ooc: That's what the other threads said.]

Oil fires...oil fires had to be smothered. When a pot on the stove caught flame, you starved it - covered the pot to get rid of the oxygen.
Get rid of the oxygen.
Gojyo was right. The fertilizer, the potting soil, it should all work to smother the flames.
"Yes, there's a back door," he called, following Gojyo around the shop. "And it opens on the...storeroom..."
He trailed off, shaking his head.
"No..."
The back of the shop was little better than the front, torn with shrapnel, blazing.
Why? Kurama thought dazedly. Why?
