Natalia had spent the afternoon pondering questions she would ask Youji. What good luck to have met a detective in Rivelata, she would finally understand what has been going on, especially since she started thinking her friends were attempting to shield her somewhat, with their vague comments and their avoidances. She was a princess (well, sort of) how was she supposed to make a decision like... like this ( ... )

[ooc: No problem. Well, I'm really only familiar with the anime, and I always thought he was either a dark blond or very light brunet. Either is fine with me.]

There she was. He recalled the blonde hair pulled back in a headband and the way she carried herself fairly seriously. When she got close to him, he reached for her right hand and brought it to his lips to kiss the back. "So glad to finally meet you in person," he said, offering her the violets.

"Are you hungry now, or would you like to stop by Kaoru-san's first? I've been curious about that place myself, but we could always go another time."

"Nice to meet you, Youji", Natalia smiled at him, that smile or hers that lit up her features, "I'm so happy that thanks to your help I won't be a useless princess anymore!"

She looked down for an instant, sadness flitting on her features, then smiled again. "I love violets. Servants used to uproot them, because they ruined the grounds, but I would make bouquets out of them. I remember one day I made a crown of violets, and he was so mad when I tried to make him wear it..."

Natalia stopped abruptly. "I'm babbling. Why don't we go see Kaoru? We probably shouldn't be worrying about clothes when war is coming but... I'm curious. It wouldn't hurt, would it? Just for a little bit?"

"I'm glad you like them," he said, smiling back and enjoying her uplifted mood. "I just hope that you have more happy memories than sad." He hated seeing any woman upset, and Natalia didn't deserve to be miserable on a night like tonight.

He extended his arm for her to hold onto. "Well, then, Kaoru's shop it is."

She smiled, and lightly wrapped her arm around Youji's. It was nice to spend a little bit of carefree time with someone, even though this was supposed to be an information gathering dinner. She would just let herself have a little bit of fun right before...
