Sam had been walking along the docks, taking the long way to the market district just to enjoy the scenery and tropical weather a little bit. It was still hot for his tastes, hair sticking damply to the back of his neck, curling slightly at the ends. He hadn't felt relaxed since he got to this place, having been unsuccessful at getting Dean to move into a new house thus far, but he figured, keep your enemies close, right?

The whole place made his hackles rise on end, though. Every slight turn of the breeze sounded like a footstep, every little bird call sounded like a faint scream-- he was paranoid. He knew he was paranoid.

Sam's eyes were sharp, surveying the scene in front of him, all that mystery, all those damn questions.

Something flew by in the distance, in his peripheral vision, mostly, but he still caught it, head turning towards the disruption and walking towards it. Stepping down into the clearing off the docks, he got a better look at what was going on.

He'd talked to this woman. The one from the 13th century. "

Of all the things that confused her about her location in Rivelata - the weather actually helped. England, this most certainly wasn't. This place was much too hot for Marian's preference, as well, used to lots of dampness and rainy days.

A few crunches of something stepping on branches caught Marian's attention, but she kept her main focus on the target ahead of her. It wasn't until her own name was called that she turned her to her right quickly, apprehensive as to why anyone (or any THING, for that matter) would be coming towards her.

"Sam!"

Marian sighed, recognizing almost immediately who was standing there. She had recently spoken to him through the journals! No wonder he knew her name.

She realized, then, that she currently had her bow trained on him, holding an arrow in the ready-position. "Oh, I'm sorry," she said with a sheepish smile, immediately lowering the bow to her side. "Just a precaution."

Elizabeth had been out walking, like she was used to at home. There wasn't a book to read, granted, no places to actually arrive at, and the weather was vastly different from that in England, but it still made enough of a difference to make her feel better. More familial ( ... )

Sam laughed, ducking his head and rubbing the nape of his neck. "Ha, I know how it is." Knife in his boot, gun hidden under his bulky sweater; he knew how it was.

The new woman was interesting though. She wasn't related to Marian in any way, but looked to be from about the same time period. He vaguely recalled something about alternate versions of the same world coming into play with the pattern of people appearing-- just another thing that didn't add up. Another variable to solve for.

Sam nodded at the woman, holding out his hand for her to shake. "Sam Winchester, very nice to meet you."
