A book that seems to be the common form of communication here. A feathered quill which requires no ink, because it produces a thus-far inexhaustible amount.

Either a dream, an illusion, a virtual reality, or magic. None of the possibilities are particularly promising. Especially not magic.

Could be new ones, then, still trying to figure out the game. At the very least, Crawford would have read the journals and figured out by now that he and Schuldig were here before.

If they were impostors, they would have been smarter to make their move before so much time had passed.

Well, as my brothers seem to be arriving with alarming regularity, I feel it prudent to let you know about Xaldin.

Xaldin is number three in the Organization and also the third in command (our numbers do not generally correspond to rank; my rank for instance was probably closer to four despite my number being six). His Element is Wind, allowing him control over the air; and his favoured weapons are six spears which he can control telekinetically. He can also transform the spears into a long chain, lengthen or shorten them, and even make them into what I can only describe as a huge serpent. He is one of the most formidable of our members

What about the other new one, Vexen?

A scientist, his powers quite similar to Rudy Cooper's, being control over ice. His weapon is a shield. He generally dislikes fighting, and honestly all he cares about are his scientific studies and discovery. The problem is, of course, that is he is utterly amoral in his pursuit of science, with little regard for the rights of his subjects. His specialties lie in biochemistry and genetics, specifically with cloning - he was quite adept at creating clones very quickly. He is a more talented fighter than his disposition would indicate (much like myself), but also like myself direct conflict is not something he enjoys. At the same time he's not nearly so much for subtlety as I am.
