Whenever there were festivals at home, I had to tend to the shrine. Lots of people would gather at the shrines to make offerings and say prayers. And they always left a mess behind them too. Really, there are trashcans every 10 feet on the streets! Why can't you toss your yakitori sticks there instead of on the stairs?! It's just disrespectful

You worked at a shrine, Rei?! Wow! I've never been to one but I've read a lot about them in Japanese culture books. Like how you put a New Years wish on the branches of a tree at a shine and the wish comes true!

Yes, I worked at my grandfather's shrine for my whole life.

Ghosts don't bother people, especially not at shrines. Ghosts are very nice.

And no, working at a shrine isn't hard. You just have to be able to do things that most people can't do.

I imagine it wouldn't be too hard to. I've been learning what spices and other edible resources are available here, so it shouldn't be too hard to deduce the rest from that.

I'm a decent cook but I can't say I've ever tried my luck with Rivelata Native foods.

Well, I'm going to figure something out. I might have to talk to some of the native restaurant owners, but it's hard to keep track of which restaurants have been here, and which ones are new. I only arrived about half a year ago myself...
