Twenty Fifth Sight

Whichever one did it, they're long gone now. Staying away from the Marketplace will do you no good.

...

I would advise that every human being, especially children, make an effort not to travel throughout this city at night.

Teresa, 47, 22, 6, And provided you can avoid trying to kill us in the process, 4.

That's three dead now. What is the plan?

Three, is it? All died the same way?

Not the same.

A boy was taken apart in a particularly methodical way, with a knife, more than likely. There was a young man found on the beach who'd been eaten down to the bones, and now this one, which seems more familiar to me.

Then it is unlikely the boy is related. Cutting apart a body is much different than devouring.

Agreed. I have my suspicions about that murder, but I am certain it was neither Abyssal One, as they had not arrived until afterward.

The other two, however.

FFF, like he's going to stop going out at night. darkknightfall April 20 2009, 19:39:53 UTC
You're familiar with the style.

The Abyssal Ones?

Monsters, in other words.

Yes, I've heard.

I was asking if this fit their M.O., not what they were.

It's not something a human should be involved with, unless you have a wish to die.

Of course, if you do, I am not going to stand in your way.

They are able to read this, Galatea.

I know that. It's not as if they care enough to hide.

Then we increase our patrols, moving mine inside the city, and do our best to drive them off the humans.

Foolish, Clare.

We are not the only ones who patrol these streets; yet somehow, still, no one heard a thing.

I can't ignore something like this.

Three people have died...I'll do whatever I can to help protect the others.

Reply

And what are you capable of?

mirainoken April 21 2009, 19:13:09 UTC
I can fight, if that's what you want to know. I've been doing it for years.

I'm stronger and faster than a normal person, and I have the ability to channel my energy to enhance both further. I can also use that energy as a weapon and to fly.

Use that energy as a weapon? How so?
[a pause]

You can fly?

If it is them, then they will not stop at three. They will need to be stopped, or at least hindered. Even with our current strength, I am unsure if we would be able to block their progress without suffering heavy casualties of our own.

...I agree with that.

Blockading the city may be of some help, but I doubt it will prevent either one if they begin to starve. And we don't want a complete massacre on our hands.

While the increased state of paranoia might do well to heighten the level of caution, I agree that it wouldn't make much of a difference in the long run. For the moment, I recommend simply advising the people to act with caution. There are others here who might be able to work with us, but I don't believe that they are ready for meeting an Abyssal One.
