[Visions of ships and booty swim beneath Isabela's eyelids, even as she turns over lazily in the overly-plush bed. Things are going so, so well for her. Hawke's not that mad, she managed to survive that whole Tome of Koslun business intact, and now, apparently, she's got a new, warm, lovely place to sleep ( Read more... )

Did I? I'm really not even sure I want to know what's going on, at this point. Is this some kind of magic? I'm in the Fade or something.

I dunno what a Fade is, but you're preeeeeeetty far from home, that's for sure~! This is Mayfield, and you're kinda... stuck here, sorry to say!

The Fade is... a creepy place I don't feel like going back to, after that whole demon thing. I wanted to bathe twice, and that's saying something.

Mayfield? Not anywhere near Rivain, then.

[There is a rustling/clattering at the other end of the phone for a moment. It sounds almost as if it is being examined.]

I can't even wake up in a nice, unfamiliar bed in peace without hearing that voice cursing...but how in the world did it come out of this thing?

Like I'm going to let you go anywhere exciting without bugging you just a little bit.

It's apparently a "phone", and it lets me talk to you from a safe distance.

Well that seems pretty impersonal.

There's nothing interesting to look at if I talk to you on this thing. Like, say, your eyes.

[Oh but you can practically HEAR the smirk on Varric's face.]

Well, Rivaini...you probably know more than I do already. Care to help a much taller Dwarf out?

I don't know anything other than all the clothes here are interesting and I might have accidentally gotten drunk and married a Qunari. Please, please tell me this is the Fade. I would actually be fine with that.

It did. I think you found the best way to describe Mayfield in general.

[Oh, he hates the sound of Isabela swearing. Given what the woman considers par for the course, her swearing tends to mean something is very wrong. It usually precedes such statements as "Trap ahea - oooh, never mind...", or "well, how was I supposed to know he was the delegate with his clothes off?", or Fenris' personal favorite, "I may have stolen a holy tome from the qunari and sent the entire city into a deteriorating spiral of xenophobic civil war".

It usually means life is about to get interesting in unpleasant ways. Though he supposes that, in this case, it already has and the remark is entirely retroactive...still, he mutters a curse of his own in Arcanum.]

Well, I suppose you can't possibly make matters worse. [It's hard to tell if he means for Isabela to hear this or not.]

[TROLLFACE ON.]

Don't start brooding sexily where I can't see it. I need the full effect, if you're going to talk like that.

Is that actually your primary concern at the moment?

No... but wouldn't it be something if it was?
