Close to 2300 words. Chapter totals: Chapter 5, 6180: and Chapter 6, 1770. According to exact numbers, the novel broke 30 000 today, even though if I was just adding today's total to yesterday's I would have gotten less than 27 000: somehow I lost more than 3000 words rounding down

It amuses me that you're eight time zones behind me and still getting your daily words before I've even started. But I've never been a morning person, and most days I have the luxury of being able to sit down after dinner and write until midnight, so that's what I'm doing.

This is really working for me better than a lot of setups I've had in the future. I have Frank's laptop on the shelf next to my bed, and when I wake up and see that it is after 5, I just sit up, oopen the laptop, and start. I get 2-2.5 K words in before 7:30. The I feel fantastic for the first part of the day, and since the next part of the day is with babies, I feel pretty fantastic later too. If my knee didn't hurt I'd be in heaven.
