The nice fellow died this morning. It was almost completely unexpected. He had been ill for a while, enough to scare me. But I couldn't get him to the doctor until a week ago. Today was his last dose of antibiotic, he wasn't getting better, and Frank and I were trying to get him to the doctor and he just stopped breathing while I was trying to ( Read more... )

Wow. *hugs* Even with the being ill, that sounds deeply deeply unexpected, yes. He was also almost exactly a year younger than my father was....

If you were localer, I'd cook a casserole or something and bring it over so you wouldn't need to worry about where to get dinner from. I could bring one (or other food) over Saturday, if you would like.

You're welcome. I'm glad to hear that you're being well taken care of. (It's one of the odd things about online communities; I assume you've got local people too, as well as those of us scattered around the internet, but something like this happens and it suddenly becomes noteworthy that I actually have no idea if you do or not -- and that maybe I am them.)
