There's a song called "Life in a Northern Town." Although I don't live in the North, it's definitely not like my life now. Neither  is the sweet tea drinking, front porch swinging small town South

Perhaps it’s more like that you’re an independent spirit trapped in a dependant person’s circumstances. Although I have plenty of experience with the complete inverse of your current situation, (the inverse being that of a dependant personality housed in a home/city/life that rebuffs any such desires) I know what it’s like for you. I look forward to getting to know you better and keeping up with your progress.

Dependent circumstances is precisely it. I feel like, besides being dependent, I'm a teenager or something living in my parent's house. There's just something about living with your parents that makes you less mature. I know I can be more mature but I just have to wait for the opportunity I suppose.
