[Mitsuru is also around the same area in order to train in private with her Persona, so he may hear a few gunshot-likes sounds from a bit far off. Or alternately, she may be passing by where he's at on the way home and trip on one of the cracks he made.:|a]

Not true. I'm responsible for all the cracks, so... in a way it's definitely my fault!
