So I'm still hammering away at my writing. I had a long gap but I think I'm reaching the end of finishing the Sam/Gadreel fic and the Sam/Brady PWP. Unfortunately, I've fallen into that terrible mindset of feeling terrible about my writing, like, barely able to look at it for editing because I think it's awful. I can't tell you how often I've looked at a story I'm working on and felt like it was inexcusably bad. If it's any comfort, some of the stories I've felt that way about while writing turned out to be the ones I'm most proud of.

If you want a fresh pair of eyes, I'd be happy to alpha either story now, or beta when you're done--Sam/Gadreel and Sam/Brady both sound like fun to me.

You get that too? It sucks, doesn't it? :( Yeah, sometimes the writer isn't the best person to objectively evaluate their work; I know when I've been working on something for a while the flaws are the only things I notice.

And thank you! Actually, could I e-mail you a copy of the stories when I'm done and could you just give them a general once-over? I'm going to get them both beta-read but I just have some general worries I'd like a second opinion on. The Sam/Brady in particular ... I was just trying to write consensual demon!Brady/Sam porn without making Sam evil (it's in Stanford so Sam's unaware Brady's a demon) and anyway, it turned out weirdly happy. And now I'm looking at the fic very dubiously because I did not expect it to turn out like that.

Sure, send them to me whenever you're done! I'm very curious about the Sam/Brady one. Sometimes the fics that go in an unexpected direction are the best of all.

Hey, thanks for the link! I took a look and I think you make a great argument but I wasn't convinced and wrote my own rebuttal of your points (here). If you want to, take a read and we can have a debate on the issue! :)
(And no problem on the confrontational aspect of it. I hope my post isn't too confrontational either)
