Opera 8 Beta

Today I read a news about Opera 8 on Slashdot. Beta version of Opera 8 is out. This new version comes with a Voice Interface. Although the things that you can do are limited, for example I cannot spell out the site that i want to go to, but it has commands like reload, paste the url and go, and read. Though it is limited, it can be useful for disable people.

That is what i was trying to explain that the features are still not good enough. I mean it is still not working hand free. I still need to see the screen and use the mouse.

i know commenting on this entry is too late but i wanted to add that i tried the opera and there is a version from ibm that you can use to provide multimodal input to browser forms. like i could use a stylus, keyboard or voice to input data to the forms. i tried to build a small application using this feature and was quite happy with the results.
