Ion perched himself next to her, hands folded neatly on his lap, face slightly concerned. "The Tartarus is among the most powerful of Malkuth's landships. It shouldn't be too long." He paused. "Hopefully my leaving Daath will be the only real issue we'll face, although we can't count on it yet."
He expected that, even in such a short amount of time, word had already traveled in the direction of Commandant Grants. Mohs was likely furious, but there was nothing that could be done about that. Their priorities were simply different.

"Somehow I doubt the rest of our mission will be as easy," Jade commented as he readjusted his glasses. He had already given his men their orders for now, and so long as nothing unexpected happened - such as whatever drew away so many important figures from Daath in the first place - he was free to spend some time with Anise and Ion.

"...So we just have to sit and wait for the time being? But that's so boring!" Anise whined loudly, crossing her arms across her flat chest. She tapped one petite foot against the ground, in rhythm with the rumbles of the landship.

The deep rumble of the Tartarus' engine caught his attention for a moment, and Ion could only wonder how fast the ship was traveling at that very moment. He smiled a little. "For Anise's sake, how long will it be until we reach our destination?"

The Fon Master Guardian glanced to the side at her charge, and bit her lip in thought. Anise didn't want to seem like a total brat in front of Ion, but her capacity to sit still for long periods of time was very small. "Colonel, you're the grown-up here. What do you have for us to do? I could go and try to chat up some of your soldiers, instead..."

A tentative look was directed at their host. "Would that be alright, Jade? It will give us something to do; I wouldn't want you to be kept away from other duties because of us."
