So it's been one of THOSE days...yuck. I slept in this morning, granted I didn't get to bed till nearly 4. I slept in till 11...which is when I'm supposed to leave to pick up my nephew. My mom went instead. I asked my mom when she returned WHY she didn't wake me up, her response "I shouldn't have to wake you up at 11

Oh, it's not just you. It's like the storyline was written as an afterthought. Almost four seasons later and IC and company *still* don't know how to properly pace a season.
When I see Kate Arden and her dirty looking clothes, and her nappy looking hair.. mixed with her gum chewing, unPC speak...all I see is EZ Girl.
Oh God, no wonder I can't stand Kate. Jeebus, IC already has two of her proxies onscreen. NO ONE should be allowed to add their own.
That is a COMPLETELY different scene than what a non-signer would see.
As a non-signer, I saw the scene as what you described. I see more 'heat' between Jodi and Bette than you do, but I still feel a 'disconnect'. Like Beals and Matlin are acting their asses off and trying to sell it but something's just not connecting. That and I know Bette and Jodi are as doomed as Shane and Paige so why get invested in something I know isn't going to last?
It didn't feel real though, it felt like a violation, like someone was making him ( ( ... )

My biggest problem with this season is the show has *way* too many characters. Hell, even Joss Whedon didn't have to deal with this kind of cast bloat. Too many characters, and too many characters being given their own arcs that just can't fit into a thirteen ep season.
Take Alice and Tasha. I like them. But my biggest problem, aside from the PTB making Alice look like an idiot, is this arc is *all* about Tasha. There's no balance to it. What should be about two people learning to fall in love again (seeing as how, you know, Alice lost 'the love of her life' last season) has turned into Tasha, her PSTD and IC's patronizing platitudes regarding the Iraq War.
Then there's Phyllis and Leonard. Now, I like Cybill Sheppard and Bruce Davidson. But I don't think *either* character has earned the amount of airtime they're receiving. And didn't we already do a coming out story? Oh yea, that's right, it was the first season with the character who shall not be mention, ie, Dana. Like Max, this is a storyline soo far ( ... )

I'm not sure if the story was written as an afterthought of it IC is just trying to "resurrect" Brian Kinney on her show. It's like IC wants to establish someone was one big whore, but then wants to give them a heart and make them YEARN for stability. Had the writing been a little more different when Papi was introduced, I might have been able to stomach this s/l a little better...well that and if Kit had been written less straight than she's already been established to being. Papi was written and an out and out whore (and I don't say that in a bad way, just a true way), she was looking for sex without any strings. I liked that, she should have STAYED that. IC neither believes in a LTR relationship nor someone who refuses to commit. Both instances can contain drama in and of themselves without betraying the LTR/bachelor identity.
Oh God, no wonder I can't ( ... )
