I think a good chunk of why I enjoyed the movie so much was because it was so visually well done on nearly every level. I spent almost thirty minutes gushing to my mom about how much I loved just the costumes (JGL's vest in the hotel sequences and Ariadne's crisp suit and everything they dress Ken Watanbe in) and another hour telling her just how fantastically well done the CGI was. *__*
I enjoyed it IMMENSELY on a visual level. I didn't find the idea particularly mind-blowing, but it was very well-executed, well-produced and well-designed down to the smallest detail. I love how it's implied that the mechanics of the dream-sharing and the rules that govern are probably more complex than we can imagine but it's not explained to us in some pseudo-scientific jargon because in the end, it's not relevant how people do it, just that they can. I also love how there's the notion of a bigger story behind it all (what were Saito's real motivations, for instance) but we are kept within a very straightforward plot.
I had no trouble following it either, despite being distracted by OHMYGOD TOM HARDY HOW DID YOU GET SO HOTTT. Seriously, I remembered him as skinny, ill-fated Private Janovec from Band of Brothers and now there he is, burning up the screen with his scene-stealing smirk.
Yes yes yes to everything. There could have been a ton of technical, confusing jargon about how they do this, but in the end, that's not the important part, it's what happens to these characters after they're in the dream (or while they're in it) that's the point. It was all so interesting.
To play Devil's advocate, apparently the kids were wearing different outfits at the end! And Cobb had been wearing his wedding band in the "dream" segments of the entire movie and not wearing it in the "reality" segments - and he wasn't wearing it at the end.
I'm not settled on one theory yet and I don't think I ever will be. The prevailing theory that the majority seem to be believing in is that every single thing was a dream, but I'm selfish and don't want that to be true. :(
Oh they were? Well, that puts my theory down the toilet! I still think the end was a dream, but I don't think the entire movie was. I think everything up until they got on the plane with Fischer was real (besides the parts that weren't) and after that, we were never taken out of Dom's head. I think the rest of the crew escaped (except have no idea about Saito).
I can't comment on what you said because I haven't seen the movie yet and I don't want to be spoiled but yessssssss, Marion Cotillard *_____________________*
I love her sfm and she's so prettyyyy. And her boyfriend is also super hot and my favorite AND I WANT THEM TO HAVE BABIES.
You should watch "Love Me If You Dare" if you haven't seen it yet. I love that movie and she's awesome in it (and her bf is in it too)! But it's a French movie so I have no idea if it's available in English.
