A lot of things were inspired by Lost, it was such a huge phenomenon! The island sequence in Mother 3 was inspired by it too, haha.

Ha, it's true! Everyone else is understandably a mess after living on the island for a month, and then there's Sayid looking like a shampoo advert.

I always idly assumed that Mother 3 was a Super Nintendo game - I didn't realise until looking it up just now that it came out for the GBA - so you've just absolutely shattered my mind by informing me it came out after Lost.

haha MOTHER 3 WAS VERY DELAYED it was meant for the N64 originally but changed directions during development. I still can't believe how long ago Lost came out whenever I think about it!
