What Have I Totally Done?

Jun 08, 2015 20:49

I don't often post audience participation entries these days, simply because there's not much of an audience left to participate; Livejournal and Dreamwidth are very quiet places! But I'm fretting about various things at the moment (nothing insurmountable, things are probably going to be fine), and I could do with a distraction, so it's worth a try ( Read more... )

doctor who, prison break, top gear, uncharted, the mentalist, the world ends with you, fanfiction, supernatural, my little pony, ghost trick, harry potter, assassin's creed, audience participation, roleplay?, dangan ronpa, fanfiction (really this time), the last of us

I'm torn between wanting context and admiring how perfectly Jane this is.

My Little Pony fic?

Also, I a bit want a Waterloo Road/Serangoon Road crossover with none of the actual characters, just the streets having a geographically implausible meeting, but I suspect that's only funny in my head.

I still think of Waterloo Road every time I see that title. Sadly, I have no unfinished Waterloo Road/Serangoon Road crossovers to share with you.

Well, they're the same, except for being set in different countries and time periods and having different plotlines and characters (Serangoon Road has more espionage and fewer teenagers).

Are there any Harry Potter or Community extracts lying around?

I think I've actually finished every Community fic I've ever started, which is highly unusual! But I do have a Harry Potter snippet:

“Dad?” Harry asked quietly, tapping the map with his wand. “Are you there?”

He had already steeled himself for disappointment, and his heart twisted sharply when words began to appear on the parchment. They weren’t from his father, though.

Mr Moony understands that the Marauder’s Map is a possession to be treasured, but regarding it as one’s father may indicate a slightly excessive level of attachment.

Harry took a deep breath, and then another one. He was going to have to say it. It felt a lot like stepping off a cliff.

“Um, my dad helped make this map. Years ago. He was a Marauder.”

There was a pause of a good six seconds before the Map responded. His breath caught at the name.

Mr Prongs finds this highly difficult to believe.

Mr Wormtail accuses Padfoot.Harry’s heart gave another, much more unpleasant twist when the message from Pettigrew appeared. He was expecting it, of course, but he didn’ ( ... )

Thank you! Oh, Harry. :( (The whole thing in the Wizarding world of dead people still existing in some capacity and able to interact with others through things like paintings and the Marauder's Map is very odd if one thinks about it too long.)

LJ is too quiet at the moment, so it's nice to see you posting!

Hey Duck, what's life like as a duck these days? Do you miss all the excitement, or do you like the quiet?

Relatedly, when I was looking through your tags list to find something and noticed Princess Tutu, my first thought was "hey, what else has birds that Riona might like? Hatoful Boyfriend". So. I'm just saying.

Oh, man, how have I still not finished watching Princess Tutu? I need to get on that. (Even if I now have an inkling of how it might end, which is entirely my own fault for taking two and a half goddamn years to watch it. I think I'm going to have to start it again from the beginning. This is no great hardship.)

What I'm saying is, er, feel free to ask something else!

(I went to see whether I had any unfinished Princess Tutu fanfiction I could offer you for the second question instead. Only the one incredibly stupid multiple-way crossover snippet, I'm afraid:

He's read about Duck before. Her dancing is usually clumsy and graceless, but sometimes something will change and she will put on an astonishing performance; it's as if she's an entirely different person ( ... )

Oh noooo I am so sorry! D: D: D: It is a series you really should not be spoiled for, and now I feel guilty. Um. At least I didn't tell you how it gets to that point? Or what the situation actually is?

I'm guessing the multiple-way crossover is Princess Tutu/Dangan Ronpa/DN Angel? Even though I have not actually read DN Angel and do not know much about it. Hell, that might not even be it, I might be thinking of the wrong Daisuke. Maybe there isn't even a Daisuke in DN Angel. I don't know, it's late. The idea of Duck at Hope's Peak is both hilarious and terrifying, though.

That's okay; you couldn't have known! And you've reminded me of how very much I need to finish this and therefore how much I need to rewatch the entire thing, and I'm looking forward to that now, so overall I think you've had a positive impact.

You have correctly identified DN Angel! I think the concept of that fic was just going to be 'throw all my favourite teenage characters into Hope's Peak and make them murder each other', but it never really got anywhere. Possibly for the best?

The fic you've already posted is all so wonderful! The way you've executed the ideas is excellent!

Um, Phineas Nigellus: The worst and best things about Hogwarts?

Patrick Jane (in the context of your fic, because the fic is interesting and maybe it'll inspire you): What will you do now you're actually psychic?

The best thing about Hogwarts is, of course, its handsome and intelligent headmaster. The worst thing is that for some reason it's full of children.

Please don't remind me. Sulk, probably. It takes all the challenge out of solving crimes when you can hear the murderer wondering whether he hid the body well enough.

Still, I guess they don't take mindreading seriously in court, so there's still room for creativity on the 'getting evidence' side.
