I'm The Best. I'm The Best At Space.

Oh, my goodness, browntroutblues recorded a podfic of Behind the Curtain, my Glee Kurt/Blaine horror fic! And the recording is perfect. I'm absolutely thrilled. If you like the fic, please do listen and then tell her how great she is. (She is really great!)

In other news, I finished Portal 2 today, and I don't think the ending could have been any more ( Read more... )

podfic, fanfiction, video, portal, way to go riona, glee, someone should probably write that

For some reason, right at the start, Wheatley reminds me a bit of Derren Brown. (Although if Derren Brown said "Why don't you just jump down into that pit?", it'd work.)

I sort of want fanfiction about Chell trying to adjust to life in the outside world, where objectives aren't clearly defined and you actually have to walk from one side of a room to the other.

I would read the hell out of that fic!

But, yes, how is Chell now going to cope? When was the last time she interacted with someone who wasn't made of metal? One of the 'Bring Your Daughter to Work' displays is signed 'by Chell'; if she's been trapped in the facility since childhood, it's going to be very difficult for her out in the real world (not to mention the fact that, when she tries to speak, she jumps instead). Still, I suppose she's gone through worse. She'll survive; she always does.

I would be incredibly pleased if you wrote that!

Ahaha, I did the exact same thing! After so much using portals to move gels around, I'd draw an absolute blank on how to get across gaps or up to ledges. Hint is in the title, self.

I'd be all over fic like that! Despite not getting a real lot of characterisation, Chell is great character, and it'd be interesting to see her reintegrate to ordinary life. I've seen a few fics with that sort of premise, but they all seem to involve humanised Wheatley and focus on the schmoop. v(._.v)

I'm enormously relieved to find I'm not the only person who forgot about the basic function of portals; thank you!

...I - really? Is there a lot of Chell/Wheatley schmoop out there? I can honestly say that 'shipping them never occurred to me. (Chell and GLaDOS, on the other hand...)

Yeah, pretty much the most of the fandom is C/W stuff! The big name fics are Blue Sky and The Punishment (neither of which I have finished reading, um).

I am firmly aboard the good ship Chell/GLaDOS! Want You Gone is pretty much "I love you but please go away".

I have not played Portal 2, merely heard of its excellence, and that video was another piece of the "you should play Portal 2, Loz" argument, thanks for posting it.

You're welcome! It really is a very good game; the dialogue is hilarious and the puzzles are perfectly crafted. I'd highly recommend it.

It's that rarest of creatures, a puzzle game with a strongly-crafted plot, diverse and interesting characters, a large and fascinating world, and some of the best dialogue I've ever seen in any game.

Seriously. I envy the people who write the dialogue there. This is the game that gamewriters get into fights over who gets to work on, methinks.
