Cradled In Eternity.

I just completed Final Fantasy XIII! And I sobbed quite a lot at the ending, I have to say.

I think Final Fantasy XIII has actually managed to beat Final Fantasy VIII for my personal 'Favourite Central Cast in a Final Fantasy Game' title. I absolutely love four of the characters - Lightning, Sazh, Snow, Fang - and even the characters I'm less ( Read more... )

final fantasy xii, fanfiction, final fantasy, music, final fantasy xiii, someone should probably write that

Almost crying at the memory of how much I cried at the ending ;____;

I AM SO GLAD YOU LIKED IT AS MUCH AS I DID. I'M SO SICK OF SEEING EVERYONE FILLED WITH LOATHING OR DISAPPOINTMENT. IT IS VERY REFRESHING TO SEE SOMEONE ELSE WHO ALSO LOVED THE THING. (it is also on my favourites list, but that is a weirdly convoluted list with lots of ties haha)

All the hatred towards it made me worry that I wouldn't like it at all. I am so pleased that that fear was unfounded! Now, if you'll excuse me, I'm going to read all the XIII-related posts on your old journal.

I picked up a copy of Final Fantasy XIII in Japanese for cheap in Korea, and you're making me want to hunker down and play it! :D

I love XIII for sticking two hard, aggressive women into the same cast and making them central on top of that. (Fang is also cocky like whoa, and Lightning needs to go to a self-esteem building seminar.)

Your observations on their respective levels of confidence are very true! It interests me that Lightning was apparently designed to be reminiscent of a female Cloud, because she actually reminds me much more of Squall.

I don't really get the Lightning-Cloud comparison, because we've seen huge divergences in their personality beyond Cloud wishing he was a badass soldier like Lightning. I mean, when confronted with the death of a loved one and guilt over it and a difficult situation, Cloud runs. Lightning decides to blow up the government because WHO HAS A BETTER IDEA? NOBODY.

In conclusion: I over-analyze video game characters.

I do not understand why so many people so vehemently hate FFXIII (I have read most of the arguments. I just ... do not agree with them)! BECAUSE YES. I love iiiit. Though I want to replay it (and, thus, will have to somehow obtain a PS3) before I really figure out where it stands on my overall list. But it is right up there because oh man. EVERYONE ♥ but especially the girls and Sazh.

Also, I feel sort of cheated, because when I beat XIII, first my cat interrupted and then I had to pause again (thank goodness they allowed that...) for my brother. And then it is really awkward to just suddenly start sniffling in that situation. BUT AAAUGH the ending was cruel and I was distraught.

That is interesting about your final battle team, though! I had to switch Sazh in, haha! (My main party was Lightning, Vanille, and Fang, and poor Vanille just couldn't keep up with the level of damage being thrown around.)

Oh, man, that song. When I first reached Oerba and saw all the crystal dust and deciphered the lyrics of that song... oof. Horrified ( ... )

What I find curious is the fact that XIII is slammed for being linear when X was very nearly exactly as linear. It doesn't seem to me that X attracts nearly the same amount of criticism (not that I want it to, because it's my favourite, but it's an odd discrepancy). And there wasn't much opportunity to interact with NPCs in XIII, granted, but I was more than satisfied with the huge emphasis on inter-party interaction in its place.

Honestly, my main criticism of Final Fantasy XIII is that I'd rather the post-game save allowed you to start a new game without the Crystarium caps, because sometimes I like to overlevel myself ridiculously. Ah, well. But that's an extremely minor gripe! And the Crystarium cap does at least ensure that battles always have to be strategic ( ... )

It is a bit odd, isn't it? Most of their games are fairly linear, actually, and people like to hate on the games that aren't for being too open or supposedly having no storyline NO of course I am not still annoyed by the grief people give to XI do not be ridiculous (and, really, we all know the real problem here is that fans are never, ever happy the haters just could not handle the sheer awesomeness of the cast).

Aw, they don't allow a super-powered New Game+? Bummer. Still, yeah, not like any of the other main series titles do, either. And I did really like that I never had to worry about whether or not I was leveled up enough to adequately handle boss battles.

(That mission description was so sad! I passed over it, too. But, yeah, those fal'Cie sure are repetitive in their task-handing-out...)

You could've told me you were in Horrible Histories fandom, with a prompt like that.

And if not you, then who!?

...that's - that's actually not me.

Whoever it is, though, I sort of want to know them.

I suspect we may already know them.
