Fanfiction: X-Misfits: Confrontation (X-Men: First Class/Misfits)

And here is the end of the X-Misfits mini-trilogy! Thank you so much for your encouragement, guys; this was originally just going to be the one experimental ficlet, but you woke up my writing drive and I've been having great fun with this universe.

I owe a bit of inspiration for this part to amazingly_me's excellent Groundhog Day First Class AU, I suspect, ( Read more... )

crossovers, misfits, fanfiction, fanfiction (really this time), x-men

Thank you so much!

BUT NOW PLEASE FORGIVE MY PANICKY FLAILING AT YOU: as I know you've read both, do you think this is too similar to that brilliant Groundhog Day fic on the kinkmeme? I genuinely didn't think about the parallels until I posted this, and now I am going oh no I am a subconscious plagiarist and wondering whether perhaps I shouldn't post it to communities.

Thank you very much for the reassurance! I do tend to worry too much, don't I?

(I - I can't stop reading 'XFC' as 'Xavier Fried Chicken'.)

I suppose it's difficult to resent someone for your paralysis when they've put so much effort into making sure everyone stays alive. This fic turned out a little more serious than I was expecting it to, actually. Thank you!

“Oh, my God, stop doing that,” Kelly snarls, glaring at him. “Can’t you ever just fucking ask first?”

Yay!

(I always found Xavier slightly creepy, because of the whole "Well, of course it's fine for me to have a peek inside your brain! I'm acting on benevolent motives!" attitude he tended to take.)

I'm quite fond of Charles (I should note that, whilst I don't think First Class is technically the only X-Men film I've watched, it's the only one I've really paid attention to and understood), but he really does need to learn that you can't just go around shoving your face in people's minds willy-nilly.

Still brilliant, the timey-wimey stuff all makes perfect sense (for TV shows and films my long suffering family have to explain what happened to me afterwards sometimes!) and the deliberate sabotage idea is genius :-)

Poor Curtis, and poor Charles - they've had a jolly hard time ♥

Thank you! I'm glad the timey-wimey stuff was clear. (I wrote a Doctor Who fic hinging on three different ontological paradoxes a little over a month ago, so no amount of chronological complication scares me now.)

OMG this is amazing! I love your take on all the characters.

Are you by any chance planning to write any more in this 'verse?

Thank you! I don't have any immediate plans to write more, I'm afraid, but you never know. (If anyone else wanted to play around in the universe, they'd be welcome to.)
