Not-So-Subliminal Message: Vote For Donna.

Mar 03, 2010 12:12

Is there anything along the lines of f_march_madness for videogames? Because I would be all for that.

f_march_madness is a lot of fun, though; for those who don't know, it's a television character championship. I am desperately hoping for Donna to represent the Whoniverse. She's fifty votes behind at the moment, but that is totally not an impossible gap to close! I rather lost ( Read more... )

Weirdly, I was fine up until the last question when I panicked for no reason at all, because of course I like The Doctor better than Dean Winchester! (Perhaps it was because the question reminded me of a fic I wanted to write but never did?)

I love Harkness in Doctor Who, I don't really like him in Torchwood

Same here! I love Jack in Doctor Who, but I hate him in Torchwood, even if the Doctor Who episode he appears in is set during his tenure in Torchwood.

I was briefly conflicted on the final question, but in the end I resorted to the same logic I used for Harkness: I like the Ninth Doctor more than Dean, but the Tenth less. Dean wins because my affection for him is more consistent. (My feelings are generally all over the place in the Whoniverse, really. I love Rose Tyler in the first series, but I can take or leave her in the second; I like the Master more in 'Sound of Drums' than I do in 'End of Time'; Gwen frustrates me until 'Children of Earth', when I suddenly adore her.)

The Master vs. The Marquis? So hard! But also brilliant. And don't ask me where my brain just went. It's awfully filthy...

Oh, but I think I must ask. (Master/Marquis would be amazing.)

Filthy is the word. Also: Naked, Mudwrestling, Oiled, Sweaty and, er, Sex.

*cough*

You've managed to entirely pair up characters from fandoms I'm in with characters from fandoms I'm not in, making this extremely easy (well, I have read Neverwhere, but long enough ago that I don't remember it).

I love Harkness in Doctor Who, I don't really like him in Torchwood

Interestingly, my feeling is completely opposite. I feel like Who!Jack is very cardboard and one-dimensional, and TW!Jack is much more interesting. And every time they crossed Jack back into Who they had to leave out so much of his character to make it family friendly.

That is interesting! I think you're the first person I've met who prefers him in Torchwood. I suppose he does have more depth in the spinoff, but I don't find him as much fun.

I CANNOT DECIDE BETWEEN JENSEN AND MERLIN. The moment I lean towards one, my brain goes "Gah!" and starts telling me all the reasons I like the other. THIS IS THE WEIRDEST DILEMMA I HAVE FACED ALL WEEK.

Also, I voted Donna because of the comments I saw you leaving over at FMM. I have not watched Doctor Who, but I am all for fierce women types.

I am quite amused by your bizarre conflict. I suppose the fact that they can barely be compared makes it more difficult.

Oh, yay! Thank you for giving your vote to Donna; I can promise you that she deserves it.

Exactly! I don't even know what grounds to use for comparison, let alone which of them comes out on top! /o\

I was trying to think of someone awesome who deserves it to ask you to vote for in return, but I see that you have already voted for Samantha Carter (which is the battle I'm currently most on the edge of my seat over. It's such a close race!). Hmm. Oh! You don't seem to have voted in the Chuck bracket, could I persuade you to vote for Sarah Walker? She is adorable and kicks 17 kinds of ass. :D (This is a vid demonstrating, if you don't mind some season one spoilers.)

Voted! I wish Walker the best in beating the John Casey chap eight votes ahead of her, although the next character for her to pass is apparently called 'Captain Awesome', and I wouldn't fancy anyone's chances against someone with a name like that.

That was quite a distressing clash. I still love you, Luna!

I too now want to see them hanging out! It would be twelve kinds of adorable!

Clearly you must write it. *prods*
