(I will confess that my main impression upon watching the first episode of House was 'WHY ARE THEY CUTTING HER THROAT OPEN WHY ARE THEY CUTTING HER THROAT OPEN AUGH NEVER GOING TO HOSPITAL AGAIN', but, er, look past the horror and you'll find a lot of awesome.)
I'm a little afraid to watch more. Because I tried ER back when that first came out, and it made me nauseous. Not so much the medical stuff as the spinny camera in the hospital room. It just kept circling and circling.
I also got really queasy watching Cloverfield. Not The Blair Witch Project, but that was at home on a small television.
The bag that Richard's carrying in those picture is what many Americans would call a purse. At least if it were a woman carrying it. Men would likely get teased at least a little bit about carrying a purse if they had a bag like that in the US.
