The Croods & Jack the Giant Slayer

Jack the Giant Slayer and The Croods are the two most recent movies I've seen in theatres. While I enjoyed both movies, I found it problematic that both the lead female characters in those movies were portrayed as "independent", "would like to explore the world" types, in the end they both had to rely on men

Yeah. I mean The Croods was still funny, but I hate that Eep turns out to be some type of damsel in distress in the end.

I don't mind if she depended on her father a bit, but I hate that her "love interest" is the one who saved the day.
