XD Because there's a scene somewhere around the beginning that's rather suggestive of their relationship going past the purely professional point.

Okay, so there's this scene where Roxas in his Organization XIII coat (you know, the black hooded one) is walking down a hallway and Axel stops him by asking him if he's really leaving. Roxas makes some sort of affirmative reply (it's been a long time since I've seen this cut scene, sorry if it's a bit vague) and then Axel asks him why.

The reply to that one goes along the lines of "I want some answers, and it's not as if anyone would miss me." Then Roxas starts walking away, and the camera switches to Axel--you only see his mouth, but he says "That's not true--I would."

And BAM! All the Axel/Roxas fangirls went "EEEE, CANONICAL YAOI!!!" and there we go. xDD
