It's finally winter break! 2 weeks off! This past week was busy pretty much every evening after work, and at school it felt more like babysitting than teaching. We did some actual work, and started learning division, so it wasn't a total waste. Still, I think kids should get an extra week off and teachers can use the week to get work done. I want to go back to England! I keep planning another trip in my mind. Who knows if I'd be able to go again next summer, but I want to. When I hear names of places I've been to on the podcasts I listen to, it makes me long to go even more.

I miss the millions of coffee shops in London. I miss the abundance of coffee shops in the UK in general. If you think the cities you know of have too many Starbucks or whatever, they've got NOTHING on England. You're never far from somewhere with coffee, pastries, and sandwiches ( Read more... )

Well I have actually been home for 36 hours now, but whatever. I woke up at 7:30am in London, my plane took off at 1pm, I landed in Chicago 8 hours later, or 3pm local time, took off at 730pm, and landed in Phoenix at 9pm. Ha ha. Ahhh, it's good to be back. The weather is cooler, and I can get Peet's coffee! That's pretty much all I've done so far, besides drive around with my sister.

Goals I accomplished this summer: sing karaoke, read a book, try new recipes.

Goals I still need to finish: be ready for the school year to start, finish watching Firefly.

Unexpected accomplishments: weekend in Flagstaff (which felt like a vacation), spoiled the movie Serenity via a Nerd HQ video on YouTube, and spent way too much money ( Read more... )
