So I usually say UK, but we didn't make it to Northern Ireland or Ireland. I looked up the difference between GB and UK...and then there's the British Isles. You say UK, so I'm going with UK also. I'd like to visit all of the countries, to be honest.

I always call it the UK, unless I'm specifically referring to one of the actual countries. It gets confusing, I know. :o)
