Day 28

Apr 17, 2020 08:01

I wasn’t counting the days until Wednesday Today is day 28 of being at home. Even before AZ “shut down” I was limiting my leaving the house. Just got an email saying we WFH until May 15 at the earliest. Last date gives was April 30. I am trying to be positive but right now I’m having a short pity party. My sister said go out and get food. I feel like this should be a long haul, but I think a lot of places, esepcially in our state, will open prematurely. :\ I would be more comfortable staying at home, but my office is moving the first week of May, so I sense I will need to come in there then anyway. I hope getting out made you feel a little better!

It did. I guess I need someone else to tell me to get out. I go for walks most days, but opted to get a coffee and a sandwich today instead. Then went to the drive-through car wash since I was in the area. I (needlessly) kind of feel bad being out and around other people, and I forgot my mask. The Dutch Bros people had them, and the sandwich shop had plexiglass barriers. I'm more at risk of catching than giving any germs. I'm still not really worried about catching it. I just don't want to spread it to anyone if I did.

It does, and I have to be okay with not being okay once in a while.

Oh man, it really does have a way of sinking in after a while, doesn't it?

Yup. I don't want to be a downer to others, but I have to be honest. I'm feeling better having been out today after work, and am now sitting outside enjoying the breeze.

It's hard. I was predicting that a lot of people would be "over it" after six weeks. We're fast approaching that date.

I wonder if it's that my job is so slow (though with the severe weather coming again, it's going to pick up soon) or if it's really the being at home all the time that got to me.

If everyone suddenly explodes back to 'normal' again, I wonder what's going to happen. I know I'll be cautious at first.

People are going to flock to salons. I see haircuts and mani pedis popping to the top of local FB community posts again and again. There might be an uptick in cases, but I think it's big events that spread them, not regular commerce.
