1) What family traditions did your family have, while you were growing up

the rice pudding game on Christmas. Whoever got the almond in their pudding won a prize.
I have never heard of that. What an interesting variation of the tradition.
I remember we had the sixpence in the Christmas Pudding a couple of times. Although in that case, the sixpence was the prize *g*

I'll have to ask my mother how that tradition got started. I wonder if my grandmother passed it down.

My mom thinks the tradition was passed down from her mother's side of the family. So, it might be a Danish thing.
