Valentine's Day Ball: Winnett Room

Just off the White Room is a smaller formal dining room that is usually closed. It's not large enough for most parties, nor is it familiar enough to attract guests like the Red Room. Finding a room off and out of the way, Loz guided George into it. He flopped onto one of the couches that faced a picture window where they could see the moon, low in the sky. "We should be safe from the crazies in here. Seems like we're the only ones."

George sat down next to Loz, spreading her skirts out around her carefully. The moon was lovely over the city's skyline, casting its silvery light over the scenery below. "Do you think someone spiked the punch?" she wondered, only half-joking.

"No," Loz said, frowning. He slumped down and crossed his arms over his chest, letting his head rock back and forth against the sofa back. "Kadaj said he can tell something's up elsewhere and people are affected. He didn't say anymore than that. But something's up."

George tucked her legs underneath her and turned toward Loz. The gears in her head were spinning like mad. "The woman from the garden," she murmured, remembering the blood on the woman's hands and the rage in her eyes. "And the people fighting in the ballroom. Not to mention the, ah, other things going on." She blushed at the thought of the couple practically fucking on the table beside them. "Were you working at Spike's when that whole fear thing went down? Back in Fandom, I mean. Like, a dozen or so of us all went out of our minds that night."
