What will happen if I continue to drink my wine out of lead-crystal wine glasses?

Just curious.

DEATH.

Or posh. I haven't tried it myself; I'm just guessing randomly.

The lack of an exclamation point after DEATH leads me to believe I should not be so concerned. *nods*

i'll echo the posh.

the brain damage is more likely to happen if you kept your wine in a leaded glass decanter

I will not do that. Although I have one, but it will just sit there and look pretty.

If you wash the class before using it you should be fine. As as long as you don't store the wine in it.

Glass is fluid like in structure. This means that lead is slowly flowing to the surface, but it takes time for that to occur. Washing before use removes whatever lead has made its way to the surface. The time it takes to drink a glass of wine is not long enough for the lead to resurface. However if the glass was left out overnight half full, don't drink it.

Hope that helps.

This is an excellently detailed answer, thank you. Glass shall always be scrubbed prior to use and obviously I won't plan on consuming any leftover wine in glass the next day (this is because I never leave a glass half full/empty!)
