Japanese tea garden

Dragged polyphonicvegan and co to the Japanese Tea Garden in SF on Sunday. Yeah, it's a big tourist trap, but I don't mind so much when I'm taking pictures. L tolerated my crankiness with grace and poise, good job! Seriously, I was really cranky. I'm PMSing is my excuse. We went to Golden Buddha and ate nummy vegan happy food.

Anyway, here are a few photos:

so lovely! What kind of camera do you use? Your photos are always so gorgeous. I'm looking for a digiSLR.

Thanks! I've been working really hard developing my skills, and they are slowly improving!

I use a canon eos 20d and 40d. For a first-time dslr, you might look into the canon rebel line and see if any tickle your fancy. Or a refurbished 30d or 40d...all depends on your price range, of course.

The vintage refection is amazing. Truly, wish it was my background on my computer. And I have the raven/crow love, so that's delightful as well.

Thanks, I really liked how the reflection one (even in color) turned out. It was nice to get a sort of non-traditional tea garden shot, heh.

I think he was a crow, but I'm not so good telling them apart unless they're side-by-side. It wasn't the most well-focused shot (head of bird is a bit fuzzy), but I still liked it. :)

Thanks!

Me too - when are you coming? I have a silly easter shindig I gots to go too and I work sat (but am available in early evening). I should give you directions and stuff as well as plan my Great Vegan Dessert Bonanza. Or at least vegan cupcakes. Which will pale in comparison to meeting the Mina of the Woe and Celeste of the Dork. :)

That was so much fun!

You were not cranky at all. I know cranky and you were friggin awesome. As usual.

Um, there is an adorable orange kitty in my living room. You need to come over RIGHT NOW and photograph him. I think his name is Ernie.

Aww, thanks! I felt I wasn't being all that social...I wish I was a social butterfly, but I'm more of a reclusive mole with bigger eyes.

I saw pictures of the kitty - what's his story!?!? He looks edible (in a good way).

Did you see the photo I put up of you and J? I did some futzing around with it, but I liked how it turned out overall. FACT.

Well, your presence is always appreciated even if you're not a walkie-talkie loving chatter box. :)

His story is he got wind of our small fry rescue operation and waited for us to get home from lab. We introduced ourselves, fetched him some supper and then determined that, why yes, we would like for him to stay with us and vice versa. Hermione is currently meowing at me through the glass door. She is peeved that there is wet food she cannot reach. I'd like to think she's jealous of him being in my lap (The Pook and George ARE) but she just wants his leftover breakfast.

I did see the photo! I might have to give in to temptation and leave the obligatory "What ARE these buttons?!" comment in Flickr.

It is really pretty, except for the crowds. Best seen on a weekday!
