signature gathering

UC Davis is not a good spot to collect signatures. Between international students and no students, I should have spent my time sipping a soy mocha at Starbucks. Safeway was slightly better. I was able to get 50 signatures over two days (approximately 3 hours). If I can maintain that for the entire signature gathering process, I'll have convinced ( Read more... )

You're taking a poll of old ladies in cat shirts? That's odd...ly kind of something I'd expect from you. *innocent as hell grin*
Hope you get lots of signatures. I would sign, if I were in California.
But you can sign for me. I could be Mina Beach. :o)
I won't mention the CO thing. But I will chuckle about it lightly and for 30 seconds.

Tee-hee, I like to know what crazy cat ladies think. :)

I hope to get lots of signatures too. This measure is not *my* ideal, but it will improve the lives of millions of animals. That's something I can support.

Mina Beach, heh...I'd probably get in trouble for that.

Improving the lives of millions of animals is definitely something we should all support.

Yeah - you probably would get in trouble for that. So maybe I can be Mina P'Nod. ;o)

Never know why people are walking by... I never get to sign political petitions, because as an active duty military member, chances are I am not legally resident or registered to vote wherever I'm living (legally, I am resident in Illinois, no matter where I physically reside, which makes for interesting problems sometimes). People have gotten quite snotty with me for smiling and saying "No thank you" to petitions, although they generally get much less so when I begin waving my military ID and my Illinois Voter Registration Card and ranting about how I don't actually reside here, I just live here, so complain to the military for God's sake but don't complain to me.

Anyone who gets snotty is doing a poor job of signature gathering.

We smile, chirrup "thank you" and go on our way. My cheek muscles will be uber-strong at the end of the five-month sig-gathering campaign!

Besides, it's a waste of my time to get snotty - two people who WOULD sign may have walked on by during that time!

Sorry you had such bad luck. At the University where I'm doing my grad work/teaching, we had fall break this week. . . so international students most likely would be the only ones left here.

As I was reading this post I said to myself, "Guess she didn't get an answer to my question." And then I read the PS! Thanks for asking for me. :]

I'm going to have to stop and think of what all is out here and if they would consider endorsing. Hrm. Time to use the noggin...
