It's such a two-sided thing... being re-united with cable... I don't have it at my house because I live in the BOONIES and the trees are too tall for satellite... but I often think I miss it. When my travels provide me with cable, I hardly watch it these days (even when not distracted by company that blows television away...). That's weird for be becuse I used to be a 24/7 TV person... Nowadays, it's harder to find shows I can actually sit through.
What sucks the most is along the lines of what you were saying... the "news" used to be a safe bet for relatively intelligent reporting... No longer the case. These days, the fourth estate is as full of crap as the other three often are. It seems to sell more advertising that way.
Just noticed that there are plenty o' typos in the above... sleepy+LJ=bad ... going to bed now and I have good television to watch when I get there... in the form of the Deadwood season 3 box set, lol... (at least HBO still makes good television.)
