So LJ and Six Apart seem to be Fing it up again. It's now in their terms of service that you can't have a picture of a mother breastfeeding her child as your default picture, in fact they've changed their terms of service to explicitly cover this as before their TOS stated something along the lines of the picture having to be "sexually provocative ( Read more... )

How can it be wrong to post an icon of a practice that is legal to do in PUBLIC???

I don't know. At the moment they're just saying that it's using it as your default icon that is against the terms of service as "...there may be some places where it is innappropriate." well, there's nowhere in Scotland where breastfeeding is inappropriate and breastfeeding in public is actually protected by law.

It's legal in the USA, too. At least it was in California. Not so sure about Idaho...

WTF? That's absolutely the most stupid thing. I am much, much more offended by the sexually explicit icons I've seen (manips of, say, Spike and Angel having graphic sex) than of a mother breastfeeding. I don't even blink at a breastfeeding icon. Jeez.

Um, that's just silly. There are far more offensive icons out there, surely LJ is aware of that? Whatever happened to free speech, or the icon equivelant? *rolls eyes*
