OK, yes, I knew there would be a cliffhanger. I knew it would likely be a doozy of a cliffhanger, given this is the middle book of a trilogy, but holy freakin'.... ( the rest here, with spoilers )
I didn't have high expectations of Helen but she wound up being very disappointing. Whatever ultimately happens to her, it will be very unbelievable if she and Pendergast wind up back together.
I hope Corrie makes it. She was fun in this and it would be great to see her and Vinnie team up, if for no other reason that it will annoy Hayward no end.
I want Corrie and D'Agosta to team up, too. At this point, they appear to be Pendergast's only friends left. They can't kill D'Agosta off, and if they kill Corrie off I will write them a very strongly worded Facebook message.
Well that's good news at least. I loved his interaction with Corrie and was so glad to see him getting something to do for the first time since helping break Pendergast out of prison.
And to think, just previous to the bloody finale, I had been complaining about Pendergast sending D'Agosta away with Constance.

It was nice to see Corrie again. I think she'll be OK. I hope she teams up more with Vinnie in the next book. That would be cool.
