You know the other day when I was soliciting prompts? And how my idea was to scribble out maybe a couple hundred words just to warm up my muse? Yeah. One (at least) is already approaching 1,000 words and wants to not only turn into a full-fledged fic, but merge with another prompt. (For the curious, the 'culprit' *g* is oddmonster's What's under the bed?

but TCM had some good SF offerings last night (and Hammer flicks on Fridays all this month!), including Alien.
gah. I am so sad that I do not have cable anymore.

Something that's a little bit The Haunting, a little bit Dark Shadows, with maybe a dash of H.P. Lovecraft. You know -- gothic, ghosts, and witchcraft, with some mystery and murder to add some zest.
Have you heard of Dennis Wheatley? I just picked up a few novels by him--I haven't read them yet, but a quick skim revealed spies, witches, demons, murders, intrigue, travels through the afterlife, and other such goodies.

No, I hadn't heard of Dennis Wheatley. Although it turns out I've seen at least one of the movies based on his books. May have to look around for a few of them.
