Marietta had followed Cho to a compartment and helped her settle herself in. Thankfully, her friend wasn't in much of a mood for talking, which was pretty much nothing more than sobbing since Cedric's death. Marietta took a seat across from Cho and followed suit by simply looking out the window as the train pulled off.
After awhile, the silence was replaced by low sobs. Not sure she could handle anymore, Marietta excused herself under the guise of going to the restroom. Instead, she found the trolly and bought a bottle of butter beer, a pumpkin pastry, and a chocolate frog. Then she walked down the corridor pausing to see if she could find an empty compartment to enjoy her snacks and a break from the emotional drainage.
Finally, she paused before a door that had no sound behind it. Looking down the hall, she opened the door and slid into the compartment and had just closed the door behindher when she noticed someone else was there.
"Sorry," she said in a low voice. "I didn't realize anyone was in here."
Riley lazily peered over to his visitor with one open eye. Then, when he realized it was a girl, he opened the other and sat up. He could've stood, offered her a seat, done something a little more chivalrous. However, sitting up was as polite as Riley was willing to be today.
"Well, now you've realized," he said curtly, but couldn't quite manage to keep his lip from curving up into his signature smirk.
Marietta didn't really care who it was she'd walked in on. Right now anyplace where she could remain without the chaos of the past few days was a welcome sight. Based on his demeanor, she assumed he too was tired of it all or simply didn't care.
"Mind if I sit for a bit. I promise not to interrupt your nap any further." She held the chocolate frog out as a peace offering. She'd only bought it as an afterthought anyways.
