Oh gosh, this whole chapter and the dinner and the talk and the closure and the walk home and the KISSING - I cannot even with those wonderful slow and steady and Danny Castellano kisses, oh, and his hand on her ass. :D I guess it was his move haha.

Christina laughed self-consciously. “No, I mean, you’re just not like anyone I would have ever pictured Danny being with.”
“Thanks?” Danny said, making a face.
“Yeah, I’m not sure if that was a slam on you or me,” Mindy said, with a smile that took most of the sting out of her words.A+, I love your Mindy ( ... )

(“You don’t want kids?” Danny stared at her, suddenly wondering if he really ever knew this woman as well as he thought he had. When had she changed her mind? Why had she never told him?
“I don’t know.”
“But you knew I wanted kids.”
She nodded. “It was one of the reasons I think we were never going to work out.”)

I'm sorry, can I just say how much I absolutely love this??? One of my favorite Danny/Mindy moments is in 1x05 when he's doing his questionnaire about kids and he so quickly assumes that she won't want any but she corrects him, and the look on his face just kills me. It's like this awakening that he's seeing her this whole new way, as if he's surprised and he loves that she wants children. And it kinda made me have my own backstory for Danny/Christina that maybe he did want kids, and she kept putting it off and he felt like she was stalling and he didn't know what to do about the situation... something like that, but I just love that you brought it up here on their dinner. (Sorry, I have a ton of feelings about that little ( ... )

I love that conversation in 1x05 too! I didn't get it the first time I watched it, but later I realized that rant where he tells Mindy how her life is going to play out was a lot more about himself and how his plans to have kids have backfired (so far ( ... )

Again, a fun read. I like how Mindy is great in clutch situations, like when Danny unwittingly volunteered to be his patients' sperm donor and she rescues him.

And I just love how awkward and combative Mindy and Danny are. It's not love-hate...but there's a definite fire there. In this chapter you managed to capture their brother/sister-like banter and defiance toward one another.

A confused Danny and a coy Mindy. Just great. :)

This is so great! You have both of their voices mastered - I can easily picture all of this happening in a (somewhat racier, but just as funny) version of the show. I also appreciate their confusion over their developing attraction to each other - it's definitely a weird and awkward situation between friends and I feel like you're capturing that really well. I am dead tired so will have part 3 to look forward to tomorrow!
