Ben went pretty fast from unperturbed to violent, though, didn’t he?I actually rather like that after a whole plot earlier this season devoted to how emotionally repressed/non-violent Ben is, we finally see that the one thing that can make him snap is someone insulting the love of his life. :-) I honestly can't imagine Ben snapping that fast over anything else, and it's sweet. I especially loved his instant horror/regret/shame, and also the fact that the horror/regret/shame did absolutely nothing to deter him from making out with Leslie in public

It seemed like a bit of a weak provocation, but I like the result and the aftermath. There is something sweet about him feeling so strongly about Leslie. I've known the punch was coming for a while, and I think I was just expecting it to be Ben defending her over something more substantial, not just some random dude calling her a name for no good reason. But I liked the scene

I wish I still had Meet and Greet on my DVR--wasn't Ben also really apologetic when he accidentally broke Andy's nose? And now I want a fic where Ben tells Andy about punching Derek and Andy is proud of Ben for not being passive-aggressive.
Someday, and I feel like we've had this conversation before, you are going to have to be a little more aggressive with your demi-TP. I want some "I absolutely and admittedly ship it" and "No, they're perfect for each other" and "You, non-Ann/Tom shippers, are WRONG." You're always so apologetic, like a Minnesotan. Stop it! Punch someone! Be more like the Gossip Girl Fandom, who are crazy in love with their Dairs and Chairs and what-have-you.
I'm not apologizing! I said I'm not going to apologize for it. What more do you want? Get out of here before I punch you!
But seriously ... I don't think I can be any more aggressive about it when Ann has shown no interest in Tom, and it's all just based on my speculation that she could. And also, I lived in Minnesota too long, and some of it rubbed off on me. I channel my aggression into hockey fights now.
So if the story had gone differently, and someone had accused her of that, I could see Ben losing his cool enough to punch someone. It could have been a way for the show to address the elephant in the room.
Ugh, you are so right about that! That's another great opportunity missed right there. Oh, writers, I'm shaking my fist at you, even though mostly love you still of course.
Ben going "No, I don't think I believe you, is there anyone I can ask?" and Leslie's reaction was one of my favourite moments, too. It just felt so real. Mainly because I react that way all the time, and it's embarrassing. LOL.
