Given that I'm leaving for Nepal the day after tomorrow, packing is on my mind as well.
Here is my packing list... which is, of course, largely built around backpacker hotels in third world countries... which is a very very far cry from going to Belgium, but I'll toss it out just the same (with a few explanations so I don't look weird... ):
pocket knife packed (cuz I can't take it in the cabin with me) ticket passport exit papers thing (a requirement to leave Afghanistan) photos (to get new exit paper thing when I come back) towel shower shoes (3rd world country backpacker hostels & communal showers) wallet ipod & cables shampoo toothbrush brush scarf (cuz sometimes in my rush out the door I forget it if I'm carrying other stuff... and you don't want to forget your scarf if you're female in Afghanistan) sweatshirt toilet paper (3rd world backpacker hotels don't provide toilet paper) chapstick camera & batteries flashlight phone

Have you had all the required jabs and innoculations? You never know what you can catch visiting foreign lands ;)
