For those of you who might not know, "Resonance of Fate" is one of the big titles I've been working on for... oh, a couple of years, now, really. It was a long and sometimes frustrating localization process, but at the end of the day, I think that the game came out pretty well ( Read more... )

That's a pretty good review. I know I could probably find it in about 30 seconds of googling, but will this be PS3 exclusive?

You don't need to even google it - on the review's page (below the video) it says that it's for both PS3 and Xbox. :)

This looks great! My main worry is that it was released a week after FFXIII, and I am afraid it might take a fairly significant hit because of that. Many people on fora seem to indicate that they will buy it after FF13, but as gamers are an easy to distract crowd...

Still, I might check it out. :) Didn't you lend your voice to this for something?

No, but I did do the casting selection and assisted in the directing.

Is the protagonist a self doubting young male and/or a young woman with a mysterious connection to nature/the past?

Surprisingly not. You've actually got a team of three characters that you have throughout the whole game, and they serve combined "main character" duty, which is a refreshing change of pace.

I'm sure that Resonance of Fate is not perfect (perfection is something no game reaches, regardless of what lies Famitsu might tell).

That said, I'm -really- looking forward to getting into my copy of this game. IMMENSELY so; this looks like it's everything that FF XIII isn't, and that -really- appeals to me.

(I know there are tons of people out there, my own roommates included, who dig FF XIII, but I don't fall into that camp -- the game should just auto-play and then beep when there's combat to be partaking in, IMO.)

The difficulty and complexity and opportunity for exploration are all going to be very welcome, even if I expect to be frustrated and get my ass kicked a bunch before I figure it out.
