Bork Legacy, Generation 3.5!

May 22, 2011 02:48

We have the technology...this is pixel_trade! Current spouse, Lincoln, is by stakeit_uk.

Last time, while everyone else tried to make Myshuno into solitaire, Vár found herself pregnant with the final baby of Generation 3. Njörðr was raging, and five-and-a-half yellow gens tried to stuff themselves into a small bathroom. Baby #10 was finally born, another boy, named Ullr. Dellingr aged up to a child, as scarred_id's Ciaran Bean Sidhe hopped around from sister to sister. Heimdallr tried to take his baby brother along to school in order to pick up chicks. Vär got a dose of elixir to ensure she'd survive until the next heir comes home from Uni, and the headmaster was invited over to witness horrible fistfights and let the younger kids into private school.

Ullr became a toddler, and Bruce-Baldr and Bruce-Brono headed off to join Bruce-Bragi in Uni. The quads went a bit stir-crazy, and Njörðr grew up to teen and rolled a Fortune aspiration. Vár got a job. Njörðr awesomely autonomously potty-trained baby brother Ullr. The weekly challenge was to purchase lawn ornaments with the household's highest salary. Ullr became a child, and the quads headed off to Uni, and their scholarships yanked their father out of aspiration failure. Lincoln aged to elder fairly well, not that it kept him from stealing back plundered lawn gnomes in his boxers.

While the breakfast table may be quite a bit more empty, I don't know that it ever makes it appropriate to wake up your kids with your boobs, Vár.

Aaand Lincoln's all home alone today, with the kids at school and Vár actually working.

Hi Tyche! *waves*

What are you grinning about, Njörðr?

Ohai there, Vesna! (One of the adopted kiddos from my round of the Magicakes Round Robin.)

While I should be annoyed that they went straight. to. the. Myshuno, I'm a little proud that they're playing it together.

Plus, adorable face!

Speaking of adorable face, it's Nathan Peet! :D (dothesmustle)

Dellingr isn't even off the bus entirely, and he's gloating. You'd think the whole family wasn't already overachieving.

Scatmaster? Bop boo bee bop doo bada ba.

That's Scatman.

Scatman rocks.

Oh that's right. Getting paid means it's time for more crazy shit for the lawn. Here we have a crazy expensive fountain!

And a gazing ball and a turtle sculpture.

Welp, we already know that this headmaster is fucking insane, so is this hardly surprising?

So, I wonder if walking in on teen sex adds or detracts from the house tour?

If it detracted, it didn't detract much!

I...I'm beginning to miss ragey Njörðr.

Aw, I was thinking Lincoln was going to ignore Ullr here. How could he know that Ullr wasn't actually his ki--

*heart is warmed*

Dellingr has been given his one childhood command--take care of the giant homework pile.

I feel funny!

Yep, Vár finally got her elder birthday. Which can only mean one thing...

But first, we're going to greet this person! Edvard Gregory, by iliketoplaygod. Why? Because our next challenge is a special one. When I tweaked the challenges to work for ISBI play, I removed some and replaced them with some Random Occurence Scenarios. This week's challenge is to make d4 enemies.

The d4 roll is two. So Edvard will be one of our two new enemies.

Okay, now onto the party...the Golden Anniversary party! From left to right, we have Bruce-Baldr, Vé (invisibly behind Bruce-Baldr), Sága, Skaði, Scarlett Laroux (simplicist), Hel, and Bruce-Bragi.

Next, Bruce-Brono, random professor, Hariasa, Hlín, and Heimdallr.

Here's elder!Vár in all her glory. (Yes, I gave her the same hair as Hlín, but where do you think Hlín got it from? :P)

Oh, and it's also Dellingr's birthday. There's cake. (You can see on the left over there that Vili made it for the party, too.)

The crowd was mad at Vár because she opened the bathroom door too soon.

Yay, Dellingr grew up well!

One freckled brofist from Heimdallr in approval!

Lincoln and Vár are certainly thrilled at another kid hitting driving age.

Welp, another parental opposite!

Gender pref.

And here's the makeover. Too bad he's another clonebaby.

That's our gnome...bitch.

Vé gives an impromptu concert. It's good to see he's found an outlet for his anger.

Aaaand Njörðr's eating a bowl full of vomit. That's what we get for letting them feed themselves, I suppose.

Vár's skilling for a promotion...showing that even at her age, and after 10 kids, she's still bendy.

What is this crazy green plumbbob mean in the grand scheme of things, anyway?

Green plumbbobs usually mean middling to good in terms of happiness.

Huh?

...nevermind.

How about a game of red hands, Njörðr?

Nah...that's really a thing between me and Mom.

Aw, Lincoln pouty face!

I'm still proud of how well all you kids grew up!

Lincoln's a good dad, even if his wife's had kids by three other guys.

While I'm happy you took the initiative to cook dinner, Dellingr, I think the spaghetti would've turned out better if you hadn't lit it on fire.

Njörðr's still the only kid who's touched this thing. He has a love of ROCKING.

Vár is still continuing on her quest to make two brand new enemies. Edvard doesn't appreciate the 4:30am phone calls.

And, apparently, Rocko doesn't think too much of kids wandering off at that time in their jammies, even if it IS to re-acquire family property.

Lincoln! You were just upset that Njörðr wouldn't be all bondy with you, why you gotta hate on Ullr?

...yeah, this is Vár calling off work in order to get her hate on. She's gotta get those enemies by the time Tuesday rolls around, after all!

Look, I'd feel sorrier for Edvard if he hadn't been invited over and then actually shown up.

We've got some insults...

...some threats...

Aw, it's apparently too cold for babby to fight. *sigh* I doubt he'll voluntarily show up here again.

For some reason, Vár thought this was a good reason to spend time contemplating the lawn decorations. Not to kick over the flamingoes, that I'd get. Instead she just sorta...sat there, staring.

I guess her "MOAR FIGHT" sense was tingling, because here's Edvard autonomously showing right back up.

To attack Vár.

Her husband is inside, scribbling down his musings on the meaning of plumbbobs, or life, or some shit.

Aw, old woman getting her ass kicked right before her kids get off the school bus!

Too bad she already had "attack Edvard" in her own queue, because this was entirely unnecessary, given the smilies of ANGER.

Njörðr is all interested in Celebrity Deathmatch on the front lawn, while Dellingr runs inside, just like ol' Grandma Val used to do

Hi, Mom!

Well, that's that! *dusts off hands*

Dude, you're like 50/50 on kicking her ass. Does that last loss scare you that much?

Next walkby is...god, I can't remember who this is... Ian Piper, maybe? It's a sim of dothesmustle, that I know for sure.

Lies, Vár, you do NOT hate books!

He's not going to listen to your bullshit!

And now that she's got a win under her belt, Vár's bold.

Too bold, perhaps?

...what the fuck just happened?!

An old woman just kicked your ass, that's what!

Why is she doing it again?!

Because, inexplicably, that last brawl didn't make you two enemies.

Ouch.

There we go! Weekly challenge accomplished. Bring on the incoming roach infestation. -_-

I don't know if she's upset that she lost fights, or that she's made a horrible social example for her youngest children.

I think I might become an art major, Mom!

...that's nice, Njörðr.

We use his command to finish off his homework, since he'll turn 18 tomorrow.

Watch this, Dellingr!

And I get this air!

...you're going to hit me!

Pound the ground, yeah!

Eeeek!

Ta da!

You'll get that dance scholarship for sure, Njörðr!

We'll see...

Seriously, just watching that exchange exhausted Dellingr.

Oh, it's Furbolg Magicakes! (brilliantcat) I'd say he's on his way to visit his sister, but she's across a LOT of water from the Bork lot.

Vé, I don't care if you've calmed down. Vár's dealt with enough enemies this week to last the rest of her life.

Lincoln brought home a friend today, kingmike1224's Dave Simpson!

I'm sure you all know what this means by now...Ullr's birthday will soon be upon us!

Oh, fuck off, you just got paid, Lincoln!

Dave tries to make him feel better, but Lincoln either a) doesn't swing that way or b) isn't secure enough for the bromance.

Vár serves scabs for dinner. Good job.

(Okay, the chicken tenders look slightly less gross when plated. Slightly.)

Valhalla's not above cheering when her bed's not been deleted, I see.

Vár can't believe how kids grow up so fast. I'm wishing they'd grow up a little faster. (In fact, Dellingr and Ullr are going to be sent off to Uni a little early, in order to keep things nice and organized challenge-wise. They'll be off Monday night, so a new challenge can be rolled on Tuesday with the next heir coming home after graduation.)

Wow, another Tsang Footwork Award. I have a feeling it's the fact that stereos are strewn about ISBI households to prevent napping in communal areas.

Njörðr is off to Uni! Pics at the end of the update, since it's not too far away now!

Dammit, Dave. OUR. GNOMES.

Dellingr using up an age stage command, since it's the last chance he has to do homework.

I'm amused at the kid watching the grown-ups play videogames.

Aaaaand Lincoln's already plotting to get the gnome back before Dave's barely exited the lot.

This would be cuter if Ullr wasn't going to be a teen in less than 24 hours.

We've got a walkby in the form of alfredaskew's adorable Darling!

I always hoped that you two would be best friends, because you're so close in age, but I know that's not always possible.

Given your feud between a brother you shared the womb with, that's an understatement.

Speaking of siblings, I decided to invite all the kids that had already landed in Uni (everyone but Njörðr, basically) for Ullr's birthday. kingmike1224's Taylor Leippert also happened to be walking by, so she ended up coming for the party, too.

Yeah, it's too bad about the older clone children. We haven't seen much of Bruce-Bragi in ages, and I doubt we'll see a heckuvalot more, to be honest.

I don't know what Bruce-Brono's issue with his father is. Maybe that he never noticed how Bruce-Bragi is obviously not his kid?

Cake tiem!

Aw, yay, he grew up well.

Wow, another Romance sim.

Straight.

Aw, who's a little heartbreaker?

I sure know I love playing catch in the SNOW. Especially if my kid brother was throwing the ball at my face.

The police actually came to break up the party, surprisingly. Either this town's never had a cop, or the old one got married into the Randolphs, or I deleted her old hair, because having an NPC spawn in THAT HAIR is pretty amusingly apt for this household of puffy hair.

It's good to know that Lincoln isn't in need of ED pills. Now if someone would tell the folks who send spam emails that!

Put some clothes on, sheesh!

...talk about uncomfortable breakfast conversation.

While I appreciate you're trying to open up a dialog, could it at least wait until we're awake and the sun's come up?

The kids hardly brought anyone home from school. :( :(

(At least I'll never have to figure out how to fix my glitchy issue with the very light snowcover now that I've got a new computer.)

Another promotion for Vár, impressive!

Speaking of impressive...that's at least three kids this generation.

Kid #9 is off...

Bye, Dellingr!

You'll be seeing him soon, Ullr.

Really soon.

Lincoln and Vár enjoy the peace and quiet, finally.

Of course, when I say enjoy...

Njörðr is, of course, accompanied to Uni with his real father...

...kingmike1224's Marlon Simpson.

Yeah, inappropriate time for first hugs, y/y?

I thought he looked more like his dad when he was younger. I think he's got Marlon's mouth and chin, and Vár's...everything else.

Still surprisingly similar looking to Rocko, or maybe that's just me.

YA!Dellingr is still a cloneface.

Ullr actually isn't a clone of either parent, astonishingly enough.

So, I've decided. Instead of confusing the issue with all ten kids with several obvious parental clones (Bruce-Bragi, Bruce-Baldr, Bruce-Brono, Hlín, Dellingr), I'm narrowing down the heir poll to the kids who are good blends of their parents.

Hariasa
Aspiration: Family
Parents: Vár and Lincoln

Heimdallr
Aspiration: Romance
Parents: Vár and Lincoln

Hel
Aspiration: Family
Parents: Vár and Lincoln

Njörðr
Aspiration: Fortune
Parents: Vár and Marlon Simpson

Ullr
Aspiration: Romance
Parents: Vár and Einstein Dork

So we have an heir poll, and some simple questions that are mere matters of opinion that may or may not affect what happens for the Uni playthrough:
Poll Bork Generation 3 Heir Poll

And, yes, I have a new computer. It's crazy. I have to get used to an entirely new operating system, a giant as fuck resolution, and...well, I've already thrown Sims on here and it looks and runs great. I used the tweak to make it recognize more than 2GB of RAM. I still haven't done much playing yet, so we'll see how it goes. I have to decide what I want to play it at, and whether I want it windowed or what.

I'm thinking of adding one of the post Seasons expansion packs, and then running AnyGameStarter to have a Seasons install for the Henson neighborhood. I'd be interested in hearing people's thoughts on both AGS and...well, I'm almost certain I'd be adding Free Time, so I suppose if something else added more to the game than that one and I haven't realized it, I wouldn't mind hearing it.

I'm also going to buy Fallout New Vegas soon. According to Can I Run This, I so totally can bend it over my knee and spank it.
