The car bullshit is finally sorted out, so that's one less thing to think about, but I lost a couple of hours this morning to brainweasel exhaustion, and although I've had breakfast (important, if I don't the ENTIRE day goes to hell), I still need a shower, and I've got dishes and laundry and coursework and writing and it's all definitely more than ( Read more... )

I get that sometimes too. If there are a number of things I have to do, I cannot seem to order them sensibly, and am much more likely to go read a book instead.

It looks like laziness, but it is more like too-muchness.

There's a word for it: impaired executive functioning.

It's definitely linked to ADHD, though it can exist on its own as well.

I hate it.

But I got through it! I took that shower, and then I did dishes, and I sat down and wrote in 20/10s, and I added in a couple of chore-20s and got some laundry folded and a second load of dishes done, and I made pancakes for dinner and wrote over 600 words, so I'm calling it a win.

I put off the coursework until tomorrow, but THAT deadline is well after the anthology deadline, so I feel justified in DOING the writing.

I looked up Executive Functioning. Sounds like a description of my life. I find some things easy to learn and do, and others nearly impossible. Some people have thought I have ADHD. I have depression and some species of PTSD for sure.

I have been accused of being lazy and sort of a ditz. Hard to tell what is protective coloration, by now.
