Great job!! Which tools you used to get the different luminosities? Black & Decker supposedly makes a pumpkin shaver (two or three depths). I've heard of carvers using clay tools to cut, shave, & trim pumpkins as well.
Personally, I use patterns that completely cut through the flesh. But that's just me. ^.^
If you hate the guts, there is a power drill attachment that looks like one of the mixer/beater bars on a power mixer. The mixer blade cuts thru the gunk so you don't have to.
I used some carving tools, but mostly an exacto knife. For the luminosities I just carved deeper on the layers I wanted to be lighter, the tooth didn't translate that well, I still need to figure out how to design the pattern.
Not really, they came in weird clusters and I doubt half of them knew what was really going on other than free candy. "Happy Trick or Treat" was the favourite line I heard yesterday.
Fantastic pumpkin, Riki! My favorite that I've seen so far. It brings back memories of when I borrowed Secret of Mana from you, and returned it like a year later. ^_^;
